Strategically improving the lives of people with a disability

Western Australian Office

DWE is pleased to advise that we are now offering all our services to clients throughout Western Australia and will be visiting there on a regular basis.

Disability Awareness Training

Debs Disability Awareness Training sessions are proving very popular across the board. Here is some feedback from her latest session with staff at the Monash City Council. We are now planning our work calendar for 2012... so why not engage Deb early to deliver this important training for your organisation.

"Knowledgeable speaker, interesting information and scenarios given."

"Fantastic training!"

"Debs delivery was entertaining and educational and delivers an important message to all society."

We are dedicated to helping organisations implement positive outcomes for people with a disability.

What can Deb Whitecross Enterprises (DWE) do for you?

DWE specialises in assisting organisations to create and implement disability policies, systems and resources that meet Government Legislation requirements.

We are a specialist disability consultancy that understands specific disability issues in Rural Victoria and we work across the entire State.

We can help your organisation to minimize the risks of receiving disability discrimination complaints and help to improve your service delivery to the community in a cost effective and timely manner.

Our services range from writing Disability Action Plans including community involvement, staff 'buy in' and resource development. Disability awareness and other disability specific training are a core function of DWE.

DWE achieves a strategic and holistic approach to improve opportunities and outcomes for people with a disability, their families and carers.

We take the hassle out of writing strategies or policies. We can help you to take the complex and make it simple when drafting:

"From start to finish in the development of our Access and Inclusion Plan, Deb was extremely professional in her approach. Obviously, with the vast background in this field that Deb has, we knew we had chosen our consultant perfectly. End result, we have a fantastic Plan and we cannot thank Deb Whitecross Enterprises enough." Andrew Thomson, Shire of Campaspe.

We provide disability specific training. Our training and workshops include:

"Deb Whitecross was absolutely fantastic. The presentation was bright and colourful, easy to understand and the examples provided were most relevant to the topic. She was open, honest, fun and very approachable with a very positive attitude." Happy workshop participant.

We develop disability specific resources

  • 'Tradie's guide'
  • 'Missed Business guide' - Good Access is Good Business
  • 'Accessible Events' Guide
  • 'Scooter Safety' manual
  • Mobility maps advisory role

"It was great to work with Deb and Greg on the Accessible Events Guide. We have received a lot of great feedback on the the project. We look forward to working together again in the future." Stephen Bell, City of Whittlesea.

Facilitation

Take the worry out of facilitating community consultation, meetings, conferences or planning sessions and call us to facilitate it for you!

"Deb's experience, understanding and knowledge of issues relevant to people with a disability, enabled her to MC the 2009 Monash Disability Forum with great confidence, sensitivity and insightfulness. Deb engaged and communicated with the speakers and the audience with great ease, enthusiasm, respectfulness and a sense of humour. I highly recommend Deb without hesitation." Eugenia Grammatitakis, City of Monash.

Universal access

Is your infrastructure accessible for everyone? Call us to undertake a disability assessment or audit. Whether you are just renovating for access or adaptability for the future or starting from scratch, we can help you with ideas and advice to save money in the long term. We also consider how to make a facility become 'universally accessible' for all people and capture a niche market - the ageing population.
